What we collect when you play on or visit VEXL, and why.
Last updated July 9, 2026
Overview
VEXL is a small, self-hosted Minecraft server and companion website. We collect the minimum data needed to run the world, keep it fair, and let you manage your account — nothing is sold, and nothing is collected for advertising.
What we collect in-game
- Your Minecraft username and account UUID, used to identify your player data, claims, and economy balance.
- Your connecting IP address, logged briefly by the server and our anti-cheat (Vulcan) for abuse prevention — this is not published or shared beyond what's needed to investigate cheating or attacks.
- Chat messages, logged for moderation purposes via plugins like CoreProtect and DiscordSRV.
- Gameplay data — playtime, claims, economy balance, inventory — needed to run the server itself.
What we collect on the website
If you sign in at vexl.org, we use Supabase to handle authentication (for example, via Discord OAuth). We store the minimum profile information Supabase provides — typically your Discord ID, username, and avatar — to show your account on the site. The site uses essential session cookies to keep you signed in; we don't use third-party advertising trackers.
The site is served through Cloudflare, which may collect aggregate, non-identifying traffic analytics (like request counts) as part of normal hosting and DDoS protection.
Discord and the store
If you link your Discord account (through DiscordSRV or website sign-in), we store your Discord ID to connect your in-game and Discord identities — for example, to sync ranks or roles. Discord's own collection and use of your data is governed by Discord's Privacy Policy, not this one.
Purchases made on shop.vexl.org are processed by our store provider (CraftingStore/Tebex). Payment details are handled entirely by their PCI-compliant payment processor — we never see or store your card details. We only receive confirmation of what was purchased, so we can deliver the in-game perks.
How we use this data
- Running and moderating the server (bans, claims, anti-cheat, economy).
- Keeping your website account signed in and synced with your in-game identity.
- Delivering store purchases and handling refund/chargeback disputes.
- Communicating important updates, generally via Discord.
Sharing your data
We don't sell your data. We share the minimum necessary data with the infrastructure providers that make VEXL work: Cloudflare (hosting/DNS), Supabase (website authentication), CraftingStore/Tebex (store purchases), and Discord (community and account linking). Each of these providers has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data on their end.
Ban list and public data
Our public ban list (via LiteBans) shows Minecraft usernames, ban reasons, and durations for moderation transparency. It doesn't publish IP addresses, Discord IDs, or any other personal information beyond your in-game name.
Data retention
Chat and moderation logs are generally kept for as long as needed to investigate rule-breaking and resolve appeals, then periodically cleaned up. You can ask us to delete your account data (see below), though some moderation records — like ban history — may be retained for server integrity even after a deletion request.
Your choices
You can ask us, via Discord, to tell you what data we hold about your account, or to delete your website/account data where we're able to. Note that deleting your Minecraft account data will also remove your claims, balance, and inventory — that part can't be undone.
Children's privacy
VEXL isn't specifically directed at children, and follows the same age expectations as Minecraft and Discord themselves. We don't knowingly collect additional personal information from children beyond what's needed to operate a Minecraft account and Discord connection.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our infrastructure changes. Meaningful changes will be announced on Discord, and the "last updated" date above will always reflect the current version.
Contact
For any privacy questions, requests, or concerns, reach out through our Discord — that's the only channel we currently support for this.
